‘A Pinch of Pink’ Event raised $150k
FORT WAYNE - $151,237 was successfully raised at Breastie Boxes' second annual "A Pinch of Pink" charity event, held on October 24th at Camp Red Cedar in Fort Wayne. The nonprofit, dedicated to supporting women diagnosed with breast cancer, continues to make a significant impact in the community.
The sold-out event brought together the Fort Wayne community for an evening of compassion, fundraising, and support for Breastie Boxes’ mission of providing essential care packages and emotional support for breast cancer patients. The Sweetwater All-Stars provided live music. Along with food and silent auction sponsors, the night featured the popular “Bubbles and Bling” experience sponsored by Two-EE’s Winery and Diskey. Participants purchased a pink bow and capsule containing a unique number and a gem.
Once all stones were sold, 10 lucky numbers were drawn, followed by the grand reveal of the winning number and the recipient of the real diamond. Reflecting on the event’s success, Breastie Boxes Founder and President Erica Hyatt shared, “We are so moved by the community’s incredible response to ‘A Pinch of Pink.’”
Since its inception two years ago, Breastie Boxes has distributed over 1,500 boxes locally and nationwide. The organization has focused on supporting patients beyond their physical needs, fostering connections between patients, caregivers, and medical professionals. These care packages—along with Breastie Boxes’ broader support network—are designed to ease some of the emotional and practical challenges faced by breast cancer patients and to remind them of the solidarity around them.
Adding to the excitement, the evening’s fashion choices brought a unique flair to the event, with attendees donning amazing outfits that amplified the anticipation and energy leading up to the night.
“Each year, this event serves as a reminder of the strength in our community - people who stand by us to show breast cancer patients that they are not alone in their journey,” said Hyatt, “The funds raised help us to provide more than just items; they offer comfort and the knowledge that we are all in this together.”
